Administrative Assistant

Campus: Logan                            Full-time, Non-Classified, Non-exempt Position with Benefits

Responsibilities:  This position reports to the Vice President for Student Services, whose responsibilities require extensive contact with high level officials (both internal and external) and under general direction, works independently on matters of importance and sensitivity to the institution to perform and provide administrative secretarial services requiring the use of discretion and independent judgement and the possession of excellent interpersonal and communication (both oral and written) skills.  It involves frequent exposure to confidential issues with institution-wide impact and high level of freedom of action and independent judgement.  The incumbent must be discreet and maintain confidentiality.  Independent action is integral in supporting the Vice President for Student Services.  This position must be kept abreast of current college procedures and policies, employee's handbook, state travel regulations, and unit procedures since the incumbent disseminates information on a daily basis, attributing to the overall smooth operation of the Office of the Vice President for Student Services. 

Requirements:  This position deals daily with students, faculty, staff, administration, and/or community people.  The successful candidate must be detail oriented, well organized, possess strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent people skills, and have the ability to maintain confidentiality.  A broad knowledge of office procedures is necessary.  Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office software is required.  Complies with all institutional policies and procedures.  Office management experience is required; higher education background preferred.  An Associate degree in the field of study of Office Administration, Office Information Technology, Executive Secretarial Science, or closely related field is required. Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, or related field preferred.  Three to five years of recent, relevant experience supporting an administrator or executive is also required.  Target date to fill position is August 29, 2019.  Position will remain open until filled.
